ATCO Gas Donates to Foothills Lions Family Spray Park, Turner Valley


Lion Barry Crane was thrilled to accept a cheque from ATCO Gas for the Lions Family Spray Park that is now fast becoming a reality.

Dan Nicolajsen, Manager Service, Meter Reading & Dispatch for ATCO Gas, Calgary Region South Operations and Waylon Helman, Supervisor of Agencies for ATCO Gas Calgary Region South were pleased to present the cheque for $3,000 to Lion Barry.

Atco Gas donation chqDan said that the money came from the 11th Annual Bow Valley Charity Classic Golf Tournament held this year in Boulder Creek on September 18th. “The tournament moves locations every year so that we can support various communities and charities. This year we chose the Lions Spray Park,” added Dan.

The Spray Park which will now be completed in two phases is getting closer to its goal. “Phase 1 will cost $375,000,” said Barry “and we have $250,000 in hand and on December 1st, 2013 we will hear about another grant that we have applied for.”

Phase 2 will be the beautification phase for the landscaping, fencing and things like the picnic tables.

“Our whole community thanks ATCO Gas for this wonderful donation towards the Park,” said Barry.
