Annual Collector Fest was a Huge Success Again

Lion Tim Beer has submitted the following information about the Collector Fest 2017, held this year at the Griffith Centre in Black Diamond on October 28th.

The event has been annually organized by Lion Tim since 2009 and was a huge success again with over 80 people coming through.

Once again, Lion Tim challenged local schools to see which school had the highest turnout!

[break]The results are as follows!
#1 Turner Valley, #2 Oilfields HS, #3 Millarville & Langdon (yes, Langdon!).

Fun was had by all as there were crafts for sale, pins, cards and toys for trade or sell. Kids enjoyed free games, where everyone was a winner, run by Keyana and Kiri from Oilfields High School Girls Senior Rugby.

A Special Limited Edition pin was issued that day. The pin incorporated 3 main points. The celebration of Canada 150, Lions International 100 years and Foothills Lions Club over 50 years of service in the community.

Members from the Calgary International Pin Club came out in full force to support the event.

Lion Tim wishes to extend Special thanks (in no particular order) to the following:

[break]Royal Bank Turner Valley
Town of Black Diamond
The Pin People Laurie Artiss Regina SK
Griffith Centre Black Diamond Staff and Members
Oilfields HS Senior Girls Rugby Volunteers
Calgary International Pin Club
Foothills Lions Club
Numerous Local Residents that also donated pins, cards and lanyards.
Our local FSD schools for letting staff and students know about the event.

He’ll see you all next year!
